Big Bounce for Bach

Shamus

We just came upon a significant chip swing, with a big chunk of Kevin Elia's stack going Klein Bach's way. The board showed {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{K-Hearts}, Elia held {9-Spades}{8-Clubs} for nines, and Bach was all in with {Q-Spades}{10-Spades} for two pair. That was good enough to catapult Bach up to the top of the counts while sending Elia back down around average-stack status

Summers Hot, Wall Crumbles

Shamus
Sheldon Summers
Sheldon Summers

James Wall just found himself all in and at risk with {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts} against Sheldon Summers and his {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}. Summers didn't have Wall outchipped by a lot, and so he was at risk himself to an extent.

The flop came {Q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, prompting a shout from Summers in response. The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and river the {7-Hearts}, and Wall's Event 44 run has ended.

Afterwards the table chuckled a little about Summers' reaction to the flop, and he grinned sheepishly. As we gathered the info to share the hand, he laughed, saying "Don't forget the fist pump!"

Hinkle Back up Over 100K

OHairDJ

Blair Hinkle opened to 8,000 from middle position and it was folded around to the player in the big blind, who went all in for approximately 30,000. Hinkle quickly called and hands were revealed.

Hinkle: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}
Opponent: {A-Hearts}{5-Clubs}

The board ran out {3-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{J-Spades} and Hinkle knocked his opponent out with a set of queens.

Hinkle is up to 122,000.

Conway Emerges as New Leader

[user153906]

Thomas Conway just took a nice pot from Mazin Khoury, our previous leader, to take the pole position here in Level 17.

Conway opened with a raise from middle position and, after Khoury three-bet from the button, Conway put in a four-bet. Khoury called and the two players went heads-up to a flop of {6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{2-Spades}. Conway led out for 32,500 and Khoury called. Both players then checked the {10-Diamonds} turn and {Q-Clubs} river, and Conway tabled {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} for a turned pair of tens. Khoury looked shocked to see his opponent's cards and he tossed his hand into the muck. Conway has eclipsed the 400,000-chip mark, and Khoury has slipped below 200,000.

Travell Thomas has been gradually moving up the counts this afternoon. And he and everyone else just moved up one more spot in the pay schedule, too, after Thomas knocked out Amnon Filippi.

Thomas moves up over the 200,000-chip mark after dragging that pot.

Blair Hinkle Minus a Cheerleader

[user153906] • Nivo 17: 2,000-4,000, 500 ante

Mason "Uncle Ron" Hinkle has been a major supporter of his brother Blair in the past few days. Mason was by his brother's side during Blair's deep run in Event #38, a $1,500 No Limit Hold'em event that concluded on Saturday. Blair took fourth place for $192,734, and Mason was there through the end.

Today, though, while Blair is deep in this $1,000 event, Mason is over at the main stage in the Amazon Room watching friend James Mackey at the final table of Event #43. Just like he did at Blair's final table, every time Mackey wins a pot, Mason stands up and repeats his one-man cheer: "Ohhhhhhh yeahhhhhhh. Wooooooooooo."

It echoes through the Amazon Room. And brother Blair — seated across the room — grins every time.

Blair is closing in on back-to-back final tables here in Event #44. If he returns tomorrow for Day 3, you can bet Mason will be back in his cheering section.
