Kassela Sucks Out To Take Table

• Nivo 7: 1,500-3,000, 500 ante
Frank Kassela
Frank Kassela

Frank Kassela had a slight chip lead on Maxwell Greenwood in their heads-up match and took down a huge pot to win the table and move on to Day 3.

The two got it all in preflop, Kassela holding {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds} and Greenwood holding {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}. The board ran out {2-Spades}{A-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}{J-Hearts} to give Kassela the river of dreams and take down the table. He is the third bracelet winner to win their table so far (Eric Cajelais, Dan Kelly, Kassela) and we still have a few left in the field. The final 16 is shaping up to be a stacked group.

State of Play

• Nivo 7: 1,500-3,000, 500 ante

There's only one table currently heads up, seven are involved in three way action and two remain in four way action.

Erik Cajelais Moves On

• Nivo 7: 1,500-3,000, 500 ante
Erik Cajelais
Erik Cajelais

Erion Islamay had battled his way back into his heads up match with Erik Cajelais, but Cajelais took a big pot off Islamay, then won the rest of his chips on the next hand. Most of the damage was done in a hand where the board read {6-Spades}{q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. There was about 100,000 in the pot, and Cajelais put Islamay all in. Islamay went deep into the tank before folding, leaving him with alittle under 100,000.

That went in preflop on the next hand, and Cajelais called with {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and had Islamay, who showed {a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}, dominated. The board ran out {j-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{j-Spades}{a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}, and Cajelais is our next winner.

Noah Arcs Towards Chip Lead

• Nivo 5: 800-1,600, 200 ante

Noah Sandler just finished off Victor Ramdin when the former's {A-Hearts}{8-Spades} held against Ramdin's {K-Hearts}{10-Spades} on a {5-Spades}{3-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} board. Sandler is the chip leader as this table has gone from seven-handed to three-handed in about 20 minutes.

Mahkija Doubles Through Ramdin

• Nivo 5: 800-1,600, 200 ante

We caught the action with the board reading {5-Spades}{7-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and Victor Ramdin and Amit Mahkija in the hand. Ramdin had just bet a tower of yellow chips that looked to be around 18,000, and Mahkija was in the tank. Mahkija shoved all in for 39,000 total, and Ramdin beat him into the pot.

Mahkija: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
Ramdin: {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}

Both players had a pair and straight draw, but Mahkija was ahead and looking to dodge the river. It came the {4-Hearts}, and Mahkija scooped the pot to up his stack to around 80,000.
