Litvinov vs. Lacay

[user153638] • Nivo 29: 40,000-80,000, 10,000 ante

With 830,000 in the pot and a board reading {K-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}, Artem Litvinov checked from the big blind and then called a bet of 325,000 from Ludovic Lacay. Both players then checked the {J-Clubs} river and Lacay rolled over {J-Spades}{Q-Spades}; however, it was no good as Litvinov had rivered two pair with {J-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

This €5,300 Main Event may be the cornerstone of the stop, but plenty of side events have kept players busy. What’s more, some of those events have been won by some familiar players.

Event #2, the €5,300 IPT High Roller, attracted 75 entrants to create a prize pool of €378,300. That event saw Canada’s Marc-Andre Ladouceur emerge victorious after facing a 4-1 chip deficit in heads-up play against Alex Roumeliotis to win €132,400. That made it three six-figure scores in a row for Ladouceur, who also finished 13th in the World Series of Poker Main Event for $465,159 and second in the EPT Barcelona Heads-Up Championship for €101,000.

"I remember sitting at the €10,000 Heads-Up in Barcelona with that big trophy next to me," Ladoucuer told Rick Dacey of the PokerStars Blog after the win. "I played for nine hours with it on the table so to actually win one is nice. To get a first title on the EPT is nice."

There are No Winners and Losers Here

Adrian Piasecki opened for 150,000 under the gun with {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} and was met with a three-bet to 340,000 by Jason Lavallee, who held {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts} in middle position. Action folded back around to Piasecki, he moved all in for 1,725,000, and Lavallee made the call.

Piasecki was knocking on elimination's door, and the {4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop didn't provide him much help. He needed either an eight or running straight cards to extend his tournament life, and while he wouldn't find an eight, the {A-Hearts} turn and {5-Hearts} river did complete the improbable straight. Chop it up.

Lavallee Makes Good River Call

Jason Lavallee raised to 160,000 from under the gun and it folded all of the way around the table to Micah Raskin in the big blind. He slid out a call and the flop brought {7-Spades}{A-Spades}{2-Spades}. Raskin checked his action on this spade heavy flop and Lavallee checked right behind.

The {Q-Diamonds} hit the turn and Raskin led out for 300,000. Lavallee flat called and the {3-Spades} brought a fourth spade on the board on the river. Raskin made the same bet as he did on the turn- 300,000 - and Lavallee went into the tank.

Eventually Lavallee called and showed no spades, but rather {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} for top pair. Raskin showed {Q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for merely a pair of queens and Lavallee too down the pot.

Ismael Bojang Eliminated in 8th Place (€65,450)

Ismael Bojang - 8th place

Ismael Bojang is the first player to be eliminated from this final table after more than 3.5 hours of play.

Jason Lavallee opened to 160,000 from early position and made a quick call when the German player three-bet all in for 1,500,000 from the next seat.

Lavallee: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Bojang: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

The board ran {6-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}.

With that the Candian pro has extended his lead at the top.

One for Recchia

[user153638]

Angelo Recchia raised to 160,000 from the cutoff with {10-Spades}{3-Spades} and Jason Tompkins defended from the big blind with {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}. The {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} flop was fairly intimidating, and Tompkins ended up check-folding to a bet of 150,000.

Not too exciting, but it's reminiscent of the sort of hands we've been seeing here in Sanremo as of late.

Ludovic Lacay raised to 160,000 from under the gun plus one and it folded around to Micah Raskin who moved all in. Lacay called only to find out that he was in pretty bad shape.

Raskin: {K-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Lacay: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}

The board fell {3-Hearts}{5-Spades}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and Raskin was able to score a double up, boosting him to 2.5 million in chips.
